Madi Allen is a Calgary-based musician who feels just as comfortable at a piano, behind a mic, or with a guitar in hand. She studied pop and contemporary jazz vocals at MacEwan University in Edmonton and earned her Bachelor’s in Music Therapy from Capilano University in North Vancouver. Today, you can catch her performing at Calgary’s dueling piano bar, Aussie Rules, or blending her own songs with crowd favourites.
With a voice that moves easily between pop sparkle and jazz soul, Madi knows how to read a room and deliver exactly what it needs — whether that’s a high-energy hit, a soulful ballad, or a request scrawled on a napkin. Her background in music therapy gives her a rare ability to tap into the emotional weight of a song and make every performance feel personal. Quick to learn, versatile, and always engaging, Madi leaves her audiences feeling connected, entertained, and just a little more joyful than when they walked in.

‘Melting in Your Hands’ is an homage to the music of the late ’90s and early 2000s, blending infectious, romantic, and intimate pop hooks with the grit of alternative rock. Influenced by the voices and songwriters that shaped me—Avril Lavigne, Chantal Kreviazuk, Amanda Marshall, Sarah McLachlan, Lights, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Beach Boys —I revisited the sounds, textures, and emotions of my youth to create something both nostalgic and new.
At its heart, the album is a journey: through the pain of heartbreak, the quiet of growth and self-discovery, and the joy of finding forever love. Touching on mental health, resilience, and the courage to begin again, these songs move from raw vulnerability to unapologetic triumph. After years away from releasing music, this project for me feels like a breakthrough—fresh, and unafraid.
